The

New Clients
As you know, TheraManager
had our usual booth at this year's American Psychiatric Association
trade show. As a side note, it was a treat to see some of you at
the show!
A nation-wide
Tele-Psychiatry practice also presenting at the show reviewed all of
the Practice Management / EMR software companies at the show and
selected TheraManager
to be their EMR software
partner. We are currently training their 120 clinicians around
the country...
TheraManager clients
continue to refer in more colleagues. We've recently added more
Psychiatrists in New Jersey and Oregon, another Psychologist in New
Jersey, and another Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia...
In addition to the above
recent 'wins', our sales pipeline is growing faster than ever...
New EMR Screen
We've officially
launched our new EMR screen. Our development team wrote the new
screen in Microsoft's .net technology, so it has an easy-to-use
graphical user interface and it's easy for us to maintain. The
two most important new features are 1) the ability to turn any
Microsoft Word document into an EMR template and 2) the integration of
Digital Signature Pads. The ability to convert MS Word documents
into EMR templates expands the uses of our EMR to include any
Patient/Client paperwork - treatment plans, progress notes,
confidentiality agreements, etc. The integration of Digital
Signature Pads is a huge time-saver for Practices that run government
programs and require Client/Patient/Guardian signatures. Imagine
never having to print/sign/scan/attach a document again; just sign it
directly on the screen. In addition, for those Practices that
prescribe medications, you will soon be able to e-prescribe controlled
substances (aka EPCS) within TheraManager.

The World is
Racing to the Cloud
Gartner predicts that
1/2 of the world's applications and data will be on the Cloud within
the next few years. Dell highlights an interesting irony - the
last few organizations that are not yet running on a cloud most often
state that they are not doing so out of fear for their data and it's
safety. The irony, he points out, is that most of these people
have a basic non-redundant computer system susceptible to theft, fire,
flood, bad hard drives, etc. In fact, top-of-the line cloud
environments, like the one used by TheraManager (provided by OnRamp www.onr.com), provide a level of security,
encryption, redundancy, and backups that an idividual medical practice
would never achieve on it's own.
We've just passed the
50% point, so more TheraManager Practices are now operating in our
Cloud than on local office servers, and more Practices are converting every
month.
Tele-Psychiatry
It's not new, but it is
hot.
Perhaps it's the
nation-wide shortage of Behavioral Health clinicians.
Perhaps it's the
availability and relative inexpensiveness of the technology.
Perhaps it's the flood
of new patients/clients with access to healthcare.
Perhaps these three
phenomenon have created a perfect storm!
While tele-health is hot
in general, the applications in psychiatry, psychology, counseling,
therapy, and social work seem endless - treating people living in rural
areas, in prisons, in hospitals, in nursing homes, etc.
The insurance coverage
varies state-by-state, but the adoption rates are increasing.
In addition to more
states approving more cases, individuals are displaying a willingness to
pay more out-of-pocket to avoid commuting costs and time, waiting room
time, etc., etc. TheraManager is currently implementing a
HIPAA-compliant secure video technology with a partner company.
More to come soon - watch this space!
